We are a family run business which opened in September 2007. The business is situated on the Cavan/Meath border between Virginia and Oldcastle, it is easily accessible from all major routes. We lie in the heart of great hunting countryside on one side the Ballymacad Hunt and on the other the Meath Hunt both well established hunting packs of which my family participate.

As a family we are all involved in horse riding activities, riding school and hunter trials. We are also involved in the Meath Pony Club and particularly with the Tetrathlon competition, which involved competing in four events horse riding, swimming, shooting and running and is held over 2 days. My son represented Ireland in the junior competition in Scotland in 2007 where along with his team mates they came first and he came second overall in the individual event – competing again teams from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Equine activities are a unique opportunity for children and adults to develop a skill which they will enjoy for the rest of their lives. It requires both input and discipline from both the child and parent, you meet a wide variety of people from all walks of life. Horse riding is a sport/hobby that both children and adults should be encouraged to participate in, whether it is just out for a hack together or competing at various levels. From my experience it is a truly rewarding activity for both child and parent and should be encouraged especially as there are so many other distractions out there for young children.

Currently the shop opens from 4pm – 10pm in order to accommodate customers that are working 9am-5pm. We operate outside these hours on an appointments basis. We have full B.E.T.A retail membership, which ensures that our standards are kept at a maximum and helps keep us informed of any new safety standards associated with the equine trade.

We supply a range of products from Shires /Mackeys/ Horseware/ Weatherbetta along with Horse/Dog feed from Blue Grass Feed Supplies.
We stock a wide range of products from all these suppliers, and what we don’t stock can be ordered in within a minimum period of time. To view these products you can click the links to the left of this page.
It is difficult to have everything that people require in stock, as we have had various inquiries on items that we have never new existed, this is all part of our product knowledge process required in establishing an effective and efficient service to our customers.

Foremost in our plan is to supply the customer with a product that is both made of quality and with a price tag, that is both affordable and satisfactory to our customers. To achieve this we have to keep updated with new products and requirements for both horse and rider, in this respect communication/ feedback from our customers is very important to  us as retailers, where your demands are transferred to the wholesaler and then to the manufacturer. In the end it is you the customer who is the main factor in this equation.
As a family run business operating from home we can keep our overheads to a minimum, while also providing a friendly knowledgeable business, where you will get a quality service and a quality product at a reasonable price.
